Our Story

Abadatu Kasumu Memorial Nursery & Primary School was founded by Alhaji M. Ade Kasumu, a philanthropist deeply committed to education and community development. He believed that education was one of the most powerful tools for empowering young people and building a stronger community — and he set out to make quality schooling accessible to children in Aiyepe and its surrounding areas.

The school is named in loving memory of his wife, Abadatu, and it began humbly: a temporary site along the Ikenne–Aiyepe Road, five pupils, and one dedicated teacher. His son, Alhaji Jamiu Kasumu, took on the role of pioneer Head Teacher, laying the foundation for the institution we know today.

From those small beginnings, the school steadily grew as families in the community came to trust and rely on the quality of education we provide. New classroom blocks were built, more teachers joined, and more children walked through our doors. In 2025, we proudly marked our 45th anniversary — 45 years of shaping young lives from 1980 to today.
